Want to make better cakes? Here are 3 useful cake baking tips you may not have known about.
Tip 1: Put a paper towel on your cake while you let it cool to trap steam in and prevent your cake from drying out.
Tip 2: To check if your cake is done, touch the center lightly. If it’s done, it will spring back. Poking your cake with a toothpick or other cake tester provides a way for moisture to escape from your cake if it’s not done and you have to put it back in the oven.
Tip 3: Your cake will rise better if you “comb” cake batter up the inside of the cake pan with a spatula.
